The Wound Boot is a breathable boot with elastic sides to cover a bandage or cast if needed. The Spandex sides allow for a range of healing stages – expands to cover bandage or cast and reduces when bandage is removed for continual healing protection. It protects the wound area while healing and restricts licking or chewing at wounds. The boot is breathable to allow air to freely flow in and around the wound area – reducing moisture and keeping the wound area dryer and cooler. The boot is designed to be breathable, not waterproof. If the dog goes outdoors in wet conditions, consider taping a plastic bag over the boot to prevent moisture from penetrating the boot. U.S. Patent 7,971,557 and 8,113,152. Other patents pending. 3 sizes to fit small to very large dogs – Size is based on the width of the dog’s paw without any bandage. How to measure width: Place dogs foot on paper and press on top to spread foot like when walking. Mark the sides. Small size fits 1-1/4″ – 1-3/4″ wide paw and expands to fit circumference of 4-1/2″ to 6-1/2″; Medium size fits 2-1/4″ – 2-3/4″ wide paw and expands to fit circumference of 6-1/2″ to 9-1/2″; Large fits 3-1/4″ – 4″ wide paw and expands to fit circumference of 7-1/2″ to 11″”.

Absolute God send! While crated for the majority of a few days due to an injury, my GSD developed a sore from licking his paw raw. I couldn’t get it to heal or for him to leave it alone. I tried Elizabethan collars but was worried about the weight on his ears and he was so determined that he could still reach his paw and would continue licking. I was frustrated but I finally came across this item while searching alternatives. He healed up incredibly quickly and was unable to remove the mitten. There was also no…

Size Large was ideal for his front paw and did allow easy on/off access over his bandage foot and ankle My male GSD had surgery, a tumor removed between his two twos on his front paw. I bought 4 of these knowing I’d have to keep his foot clean for 2 weeks. While I didn’t let his paw get wet, I did put this on over his bandage and was able to walk him and not have to cone him at all during the entire recovery. There wasn’t a single time this slipped off and it seemed to breathe well. I wish more vets knew about these as sending a dog home with a cone is often a nightmare. Size Large was ideal…

Great product! My mastiff has lick granuloma and just won’t leave her foot alone, she licks it until is becomes an open wound. We were trying to put a sock on her foot but she would always find a way to get it off even if we taped it on. Other dog boots didn’t let the wound breathe (because they were waterproof and meant for outdoor use) and the wound would get very moist. This “wound boot” is great because she can’t get it off, it’s really easy to put on, and you can wash it in the washing machine…
